Bath is rich with history! Named North Carolinas first town in 1705. Learn about Bath history and Edward Teach, commonly known as Blackbeard the pirate. The town is comprised of approximately 75% year round residents and 25% seasonal residences.
Aside from the volume of history, Bath is a quaint town full of charm; the waterfront is unparallel. There are so many opportunities to live on the water or have access to the water, you are sure to find your perfect lifestyle.
Washington is the county seat with a population of approximately 10,000. The waterfront in downtown Washington is the prime location for festivals and events. The Stewart Parkway City Docks have free public docks, canoe launch, as well as rentable slips equipped with water, electricity and pump stations. Washington offers a variety of activities and lifestyles from rural country settings to luxury waterfront homes and condominiums.
Belhaven is located on the Pungo River just 8 miles from the Pamlico Sound, 15 miles from the Outer Banks by water with quick access to the IntraCoastal Waterway. A nature oriented community with walking trails, canoe/kayak paddle trails, excellent fishing and a wide variety of wildlife, including the amazing spectacal of Tundra Swan.
